Associate Director of Safeguarding

The Associate Director of Safeguarding is a key role within the Chief Nursing Officers Directorate. The post holder will work in conjunction with the Chief Nursing Officer’s Team to implement the Patient Strategy and improve standards of care across the organisation.
The Associate Director of Safeguarding will have defined corporate portfolio that they will be responsible for. The portfolio will include leading the Children’s and Adult Safeguarding Teams, bringing them together working collaboratively, and leading the Mental Health agenda working with the Chief Nursing Officer and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer.
At this time of both challenging and exciting change for our organisation, and the NHS, we are seeking to appoint an outstanding experienced senior nurse to join us as a key member of the Chief Nursing Officer’s team. This is a senior role within the Trust, with key strategic and regulatory importance. You will lead dynamic teams in delivering an efficient, effective and high-quality service across the Trust, improving the quality of care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and strengthening professional leadership, and work closely with key external stakeholders to improve safeguarding practice and learning across the system.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. You will be a senior nurse with significant experience and the commitment to delivery of outstanding patient care. You will have excellent leadership, influencing and motivational skills as well as the ability to identify opportunities for new ways of working and innovative practice. Excellent communication skills are pivotal, alongside the ability to challenge and embed best practice across the Trust.
