Assistant Carer/cleaner

March, United Kingdom SimonCare Full time

We are needing someone to join our friendly team caring for a gentleman in his own home who has complex medical needs. Initially it would be for an average of 10.5 hours a week to assist the main carer, to be responsible for cleaning the accommodation and to be responsible for shopping, but also to work 8 hour cover shifts when required for which full training, will be provided both in-house and with an external agency. Should a full-time vacancy occur you would then be the obvious choice to fill the vacancy as a qualified personal assistant. The role could be suitable for a young person (18+ as medicines are involved) who is able to clean thoroughly, to gain experience as a personal assistant together with certificates for courses undertaken. We presently have a full time carer who began with us in this way. Pay for the initial assistant/carer role is £11.50 per hour but once able to work cover shifts the rate for covers will be between £12 to £16 per hour dependent on age and ability.
