**About The Role**

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Climate and Strategic Programmes division within the Communities and Strategy Directorate as Head of Capital Delivery. In this role, you will work across the council to ensure that we have a robust, high quality and consistent approach to capital project and programme management and delivery. You will have the opportunity to deliver cross-cutting strategic projects and programmes and further develop your project and programme management skills in an ambitious authority.

In the role, as well as providing support to project managers across the council, you will provide assurance to the council’s leadership that the required discipline, governance and rigour is in place for all projects and programmes to enable successful delivery. As part of this you and your team will manage and facilitate the council’s Portfolio Boards - Capital Strategy Board and Place Portfolio Board, chaired by the Executive Director of Finance and Resources and Chief Executive respectively.

**About The Team You’ll Be Working In**

You will be a member of the Climate and Strategic Programmes divisional leadership team; a team who are absolutely focussed on delivering the key priorities of the council as set out in the Corporate Plan and Delivery Plan. Climate and Strategic Programmes is part of the Community and Strategy directorate, reporting to the Assistant Chief Executive.

You will lead a small team to provide high quality and professional advice and support to capital project managers across the council to enable them to successfully deliver capital projects and programmes in accordance with the One Hounslow PPM (Project and Programme Management) Approach. In doing this you will be a key leader in a cross-organisational team, working with colleagues across the council to support, influence and enable the delivery of the organisational priorities and objectives.

- You have substantial leadership experience working in a PMO and / or capital programme / project delivery in a complex environment, preferably in a local authority setting, with a track record of successfully delivering challenging development / capital projects / programmes.
- You are an expert communicator with an ability to engage with complex concepts and issues and communicate these clearly and simply both verbally and in writing to a broad range of stakeholders.
- You have excellent influencing and coaching skills to develop both your direct team, and wider stakeholders across the organisation and partners.
- You are skilled at planning to enable you to resource the capital projects and programmes efficiently and effectively with a focus on value for money.
- You are a corporate player with a focus on delivering the organisational objectives and outcomes.
- You are driven by our corporate values and our focus on delivering for our residents.
