Cost Accountant

The role is a vital hire for the team and will provide essential information to the management team and wider business. They are looking for someone with a cost accounting backround but also has an understanding of financial accounts to assist the team incaseof sickness or absence within the senior management team.

Responsibilities include:

- Reviewing line profitability
- Identify and investigate purchase price and material use variances.
- Analyse organisational data to assess labour rates, overheads etc and recommend costing policies
- Perform month end cost accounting close
- Produce inventory valuation reports and analysis and validate inventory valuations
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports
- Review company accounting policies (stock valuations, slow moving stock provisions, warranty provisions, depreciation methods etc)
- Support with the preparation of annual budgets
- Report on performance against budget
- Challenge and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Assist with ad hoc finance tasks
Person specification:

- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or part qualified
- Good system, IT and Excel knowledge including PowerBI
- A background in high product volume manufacturing
- Sound experience analysing P&L and costings
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team
