**Job description**:
The objective of this role is to deliver engaging and inspiring formal and informal learning sessions for Creswell Heritage Trust, both in person at the University of Nottingham Museum, and through digital outreach sessions livestreamed from Creswell Crags Museum & Heritage Centre. We anticipate that the development and delivery of new learning experiences will be a major focus of Creswell Heritage Trust in 2023 onwards, and this role will be a key part of that. This post will offer the holder a chance to make a mark at a crucial time in the Trust’s story.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Responsible for:
The delivery of learning activities to visiting school groups at the University of Nottingham Museum and Highfields Park, University Park Campus. These include:

- Indoor activities involving archaeology and prehistoric art
- Outdoor activities involving survival skills and early farming-themed activities
- Costumed delivery
- Setting up and packing away all equipment and resources
- Working with University of Nottingham Museum and Nottingham City Council staff to ensure an effective partnership

The delivery of livestreamed learning sessions from Creswell Crags Museum & Heritage Centre. These include:

- Setting up digital equipment (camera/lighting/microphone/livestreaming software/etc.)
- Trouble-shooting any technical problems during test-calls with schools
- Delivering Stone Age themed presentation with greenscreen backdrop to a remote live audience, often whilst in costume
- Using close-up camera to demonstrate artefacts to remote audiences
- Interacting with school groups via video-link and/or chat function within video call software
- Developing new sessions for livestream learning

Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe working environment, ensuring that all relevant risk assessments are understood and adhered to.

Checking and basic maintenance of learning department equipment, recording stock levels of expendable items and forwarding requests for replenishment, advanced repairs or upgrades to the Learning Manager when required.

Contributing to the creation and development of appropriate learning activities at the University of Nottingham Museum and via digital outreach, and presenting these ideas to the Learning Manager for approval.

Presenting a warm, welcoming, and accessible point of contact for all person-led learning and engagement activities at the University of Nottingham Museum, and virtually for schools/booked groups partaking in livestreamed learning sessions.

The delivery of other formal and informal learning activities at Creswell Crags, as required.

Working with:

- The direct management by the Learning Manager to develop and deliver the learning programme.
- Other Heritage Facilitators and Tour Guides to ensure the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of learning sessions.
- The Business Relationships Co-ordinator and Visitor Service Team regarding booking queries, and to ensure that any specific requirements/requests of the visiting group are identified and acted upon.
- The Head of Public Engagement, Marketing Executive, Curator, and the Learning Team to promote the unique significance of Creswell Crags to a wide audience.
- The wider team to develop the creative vision for new learning sessions.
- The wider team to develop the creative content for the website and social media channels.

Other:

- Being prepared to undertake all training relevant to the role and taking a proactive approach to seeking out CPD opportunities.
- Representing Creswell Heritage Trust with external stakeholders, in particular within the wider museum sector, maintaining appropriate working contacts and relationships.

**Experience**

Delivering informative tours, activities, workshops, or similar, to a range of audiences **Essential**

Demonstrable work experience in a heritage, arts, cultural or charitable organisation **Desirable**

**Education / Qualifications**

5 GCSEs grade C/Level 5 or above, including English & Maths, or equivalent **Essential**

Degree or professional qualification/accreditation in a relevant discipline (archaeology, history, education, or similar) **Desirable**

**Knowledge**

Good IT literacy including the MS Office **Essential**
