Assistant Psychologist - Adolescent Community Treatment Service (ACTS)

Why is the post vacant? Our wonderful colleague will be starting the Clinical Psychology doctorate course this autumn.

What does ACTS do? Our multidisciplinary Tier 4 team provides intensive assessment and a range of evidence-based treatment interventions to young people residing in Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster. We also provide high-intensity support to some young people currently in General Adolescent Units (GAU), Low Secure Units (LSU) and/ Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) to facilitate discharge back to the community and reduce the length of stay away from home,

ACTS went "live" in July 2019 and received the Royal College of Psychiatrists Award 2020 for Psychiatric Team of the Year: Children and Adolescents.

ACTS has prevented roughly half of all GAU admissions across five London Boroughs in the past four years as well as demonstrating improved clinical and functional outcomes for young people.

The work we do involves supporting young people and their families during times of high risk and high distress. ACTS offers excellent clinical supervision, reflective practice and ongoing training opportunities.

The team is based at Monks Park Health Centre, HA9 6JE - with multiple public transport links and free on-street parking.
