We're seeking an innovative individual who can inject fresh ideas into our team, collaborating with the Café and Kitchen Manager to elevate guest experiences. With full support from our management team, you'll have the resources to not only excel in your role but also contribute to the overall growth of the Charity.

Attention to detail in daily operations and a positive, supportive approach to teamwork are vital. Your role will involve mentoring staff and ensuring the smooth running of the Café on a day-to-day basis. Essential skills include experience in a similar establishment, proficiency in operating EPOS till systems, familiarity with Bean 2 Cup coffee machines, and the ability to supervise staff effectively.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Cafe**
- Assist the Café & Kitchen Manager in the day to day running of the establishment and taking charge in their absence.
- Key holder and alarm responsibilities before, during and after service.
- Duty management of Kitchen staff in the Café & Kitchen Managers absence.
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional and calm manner.
- Drive compliance in company standards set by the CEO and Café & Kitchen Manager and exceed expectations.
- Stock management including promotions and on-shelf stock availability.
- Management and creation of content for social media channels.
- Management of Trip Advisor, Google Reviews etc
- Adopt a ‘hands on’ role to ensure front of house efficiency and excellence.
- Follow HAPPA policies and procedures relating to cash management, stock and human resources.
- Ensure the establishment is fully compliant with pricing, promotions, legislation and Health and Safety.
- Ensure that food is of a consistently high standard and delivered in an attractive and timely manner.
- To be proficient in the operation of all front of house equipment including the Coffee Machine, EPOS till system and card facilities and to be able to train others if required.
- To assist the smooth delivery of café fundraising events that are held during the day and in the evening.

**Staff Management**
- Supervise and mentor the team, inspiring great work ethic and a positive team moral.
- Confidently lead and promote positivity in the team, providing support, training & development.
- Deliver and support the team in maintaining high standards and excellence in customer service and café cleanliness at all times.
- Ensure that every member of the team has clear knowledge of their role and what is expected of them.
- Alongside the Café & Kitchen Manager supervise and monitor the performance of the café team.

**General**
- To support organisational policies and procedures and adhere to best practice when preparing and delivering food and service.
- To adhere to best practice and legislation relating to health and safety and food hygiene practices.
- To ensure that all staff support the HAPPA ethos and always promote the charity positively.
- On occasion work outside of your working hours to assist with events.
- Any other duties deemed to be in keeping with this position.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Essential**
- A strong and resilient work ethic.
- A proven hospitalities background.
- A passion for customer service.
- A strong sense of leadership and experience of managing and motivating a small team.
- An understanding of HR and Performance Management processes.
- Worked in a similar establishment.
- Flexible attitude to shift patterns.
- Show an eagerness to learn new skills.

**Desirable**
- Management Qualification (ILM/CMI)
- Customer Service / Hospitalities qualification
- Food Hygiene Level 2 +
- IOSH

**Work Location**: The Café at Shores Hey Farm, Blackhouse Lane, Briercliffe, Burnley, BB10 3QU.
