Barista & Mixologist

Monday - Friday, 40 hrs per week

Full Time, Permanent Role

Role Purpose:
You are a coffee aficionado and mixologist extraordinaire. You will use your refined palate and obvious passion and experience for all things hot and cold drinks to take our customers on a flavour journey with every sip they drink. You will engage with our customers through conversation as you prepare precise and complex beverages for them to enjoy, across a range of techniques. You will be able to demonstrate a vast range of techniques and be able to help our customers find their new favourites. You will enjoy being the centre of attention, be a perfectionist when it comes to quality and service, and thrive with the responsibility of supervising a team. Key Responsibilities: o Ensure the Campus drinks offer is the first choice for customers seeking a beverage o Receive, process, prepare and deliver food and drink orders and experiences o Keep the service and back of house areas in a clean and safe condition o Ensure the team members know their responsibilities for the shift, and support the team to achieve them o Deliver an experience, more so than just a service. Be an entertainer o Stay on top of drinks trends and discuss these with your manager o Know the offer inside out, and be able to make informed recommendations to our clients o Maintain a high profile front of house and be aware of what’s happening during service, and effectively resolve any challenges ensuring colleague and customer satisfaction at all times o Keep our Placemakers and the Barclays colleagues, visitors’ and clients safe with our safety-first mentality while they are in our care, using the safety tools available to you o Oversee the standard and quality of all food & drink; you and the service team will serve as the final quality check for everything that is served and delivered to our customers. If it isn’t right, we change it o Keep your ear close to the ground Tell us what the customer wants and how we keep our clients happy and coming back. Shout about your successes o Support the management team to be audit ready at all times and achieve the highest possible.

Health & Food Safety:
Act as a food safety and health & safety champion at all times, ensuring compliance as required o Ensure the timely reporting of all risks. Support the proactive completion of corrective action plans emanating from site inspections, audits and risk assessments o Report to your line manager any risks, hazards and PPE shortfalls o Ensure that you are following recipes as required, to protect customers at all times including those with allergies o Carry out checks to ensure compliance on all labelling (FOH and BOH) and menus

Promote ISS as the employer of choice through an effective, proactive recruitment process ensuring that cross account relationships allow for internal progression and development o Proactively champion the timely completion staff surveys and improved ways of working o Promote the Health and Wellbeing of staff by ensuring that working conditions are maintained to the highest standard o Champion company wellbeing, CSR and engagement initiatives

Financial:
Provide input/support to identify sales growth and cost saving initiatives to work towards financial targets o Following recipes as required, and/or reporting any challenges o Carry out regular stock checks and other financial control procedures as required

Infrequent Duties:
Deputise in the absence of supervisory positions o Assist at any special duties or functions which may fall outside of normal working hours o Attend things such as; courses and training sessions, competitions, trade shows, competitor reviews, as and when required o Relieve and assist in other areas within the unit or other establishments as required

Skills, Experience and Attributes:
SCA Brewing or Sensory Professional qualifications desirable o 2 years’ experience in a range of premium high end food and drink destinations o Must be able to identify and resolve issues and challenges to meet and exceed the expectations
