I have a new opportunity for you to join highly competent, multi-disciplinary engineering company, whose capabilities and services reach a global client base.

As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the finance strategy, maintaining and improving the financial health of the business, working with the leadership team to grow the business and achieve its financial goals. You will be involved in strategicplanning, forecasting, and budgeting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the finance team functions efficiently and is always working to improve its value to the business
- Leading all financial and accountancy matters including month end reports, management accounts, cash flow, statutory accounts, presentation of management information, KPIs and year-end
- Ongoing review of cashflow and making the best use of the company’s cash
- Analysing FIT’s financial weaknesses and planning for potential challenges
- Regularly reviewing, scrutinising, and reducing overheads
- Responsible for ensuring all legal, statutory, tax reporting requirements
- Ensuring all financial reports are presented in time for the monthly strategy meeting and using the strategy meeting to present clear financial information to the leadership team and provide guidance, advice on the numbers
- Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and are providing the best value
- Preparation of yearly forecasts
- Work collaboratively with Directors and stakeholders
- Working in the following areas payroll, VAT submission, year-end, supplier payments, processing supplier invoices, raising sales invoices, employee expenses, credit control, pension submission, health and safety policy
- Working with the following packages Xero and Float

**Person Specification**

You will be an experienced and well-rounded financial professional, with at least 5 years of experience in a senior management role. Ideally, you will have worked in larger and smaller companies across your career and have had experience of taking full responsibilityEither CIMA / ACCA Qualified Accountant or QBE
- Confident in forecasting and preparing budgets
- Excellent IT Skills
- Highly analytical and efficient in producing financial reports
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with Department Heads
- Strong team leadership, training and development skills
- Highly commercial and astute
- High integrity & honesty
- Experience with xero preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage to deadlines.
