At Scotbeef Ltd, we are a family-owned business with more than 100 years of experience in supplying high-quality meat products to the UK retail sector, foodservice and export markets. Our company was founded in 1920 and is now run by the 4th generation of the Galloway family.
We have an opportunity for a **Slaughter Hall Operative** to join our team at our site based in Inverurie.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday.
**Job Function**
To assist in all aspects of slaughter livestock slaughter in accordance with company and national law, to a quality standard, to deadlines, whilst complying at all times with company operating requirements.
**Main duties**:
- Slaughter livestock meeting company standards to planned volume and schedule.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality, HSE, animal welfare, food safety, hygiene, ethical, product labelling and handling processes.
- Follow traceability process and ensure product & labelling integrity at all times.
- Drive necessary kill efficiency through consistent and correct equipment operation.
- Keep and maintain appropriate records as required.
- Ensure own familiarity and compliance with company policies and procedures, standards of operation and safe operating procedures.
- Ensure consistent and timely attendance at work.
- Provide flexibility to meet company operating requirements.

**Essential skills/requirements**:
- Previous stunning and slaughter experience.
- Comfortable working within a slaughter environment.
- A full certificate of competence (compliant with WATOK).
- Speaking, writing and understanding basic spoken and written English language. (This is an essential health & safety, traceability and quality control requirement which will be tested as part of the recruitment process).

- Understanding of legislative and company animal welfare and slaughter processing standards.

- Accreditation Food Hygiene equivalent at minimum level 2 (preferable).
