The business is known for its outstanding range of wines, buying directly from top domaines in Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône, Loire, Champagne, Italy and South Africa, which it sells exclusively to private clients.

Over the past five years, Lay & Wheeler has experienced healthy growth; in the same time period, ownership of the business has changed hands. The new owners have made strategic investments to accelerate this growth; these include building a brand new, state-of-the-art bonded warehouse, Coterie Vaults, which operates as a separate business. Owners and management intend to increase this momentum, and are making significant further investments to do this. It’s an exciting time to get involved

**Overview**

We are hiring a Stock Control Coordinator on a fixed term contract to support our commercial and operations teams. This role is integral to the success of the business, as accurate stock maintenance is crucial to meeting clients’ expectations and delivering the business’s commercial targets. The role reports into the Buying Director.

**Responsibilities**
- Oversee the end-to-end solution of stock discrepancies.
- Manage the master document of discrepancies, liaising with multiple teams and functions, including but not limited to: Coterie Vaults Stock Control, Shipping, Buying, Wine Advisors, and Customer Care teams where necessary.
- Maintain stock records on the company’s ERP system, MS Navision.
- Provide Buying and Customer Care colleagues with the information needed to keep clients informed of the status of their stock.
- Undertake ongoing maintenance of stock in customers’ accounts where necessary.
- Working with buying colleagues, solve individual stock discrepancies, managing internal and external stakeholders’ expectations at all times.
- Work with Finance colleagues to ensure all stock movements are correctly accounted for.
- Investigate stock shortages to ensure daily orders can be released successfully.
- Complete ad hoc projects in line with company needs, such as preparing for the yearly audit.
- Act as liaison between Lay and Wheeler and Coterie Vaults on all stock related issues, working closely with CV counterparts.
- Be the company’s go to person for stock related queries.

**To perform the role to a high level, you’ll be able to demonstrate the following**
- A highly organised, process-led approach, with excellent administrative and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Very good understanding of MS Office, especially Excel
- Proficiency with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Navision
- Extremely high attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a demanding environment
- Motivation and confidence working on own initiative, but equally at home working alongside fellow team members - and cross-functionally.
- Persistence, follow through and completion.
- A team player, always willing to help others out for the good of the business.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills and cover all areas of the team.
- A mentality of ownership, with a flexible approach to to the job and working hours
