I am delighted once more to be working with a global aerospace organisation in the Burnley area who are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant on a Permanent and full time basis.

**Main Responsibilities**

Responsible for supporting the Finance Team in preparing the month end financial data and analysis. Acting as a support role to transactional staff when required. Maintenance of strong working relationships with representatives of supplier organisations,customers and internal stakeholders of the Company.

**Key Tasks**
- Support Finance Manager with month end preparation of management accounts and board pack to tight deadlines
- Reconciliation of bank accounts (daily basis)
- Month end stock reconciliations as well as ensuring stock prices are regularly updated on the stock management system
- Calculation of accruals and prepayments
- Preparing HMRC company returns as required, VAT returns, IPR, ONS surveys, EC sales, Instrasat
- Produce departmental metrics for inclusion in management meetings and board papers.
- Preparation of the Malaysian subsidiary management accounts
- Preparation of the US subsidiary management accounts
- Ad hoc Project work including help on the new system implementation and US subsidiary set up
- Support the end-to-end supplier ledger system including matching invoices, delivery notes and supplier payments on the company accounting system and reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Support the end-to-end customer ledger system including dealing with any day-to-day queries in a timely manner.
- Maintain key relations with Quality and Operations to ensure all key supplier/customer product information is shared.
- Provide cover for finance team colleague holiday and other absence as required.

**Key Skills and Requirements**
- Proven experience of working in a busy and fast-moving office operation.
- Studying towards a profession qualification (AAT finalist and above)
- Management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations experience
- Good team worker with strong communication, interpersonal and numerical skills.
- A keen eye for detail and a quality focussed approach to producing numerically accurate work are essential.
- Proven organisational skills and a systematic approach to query resolution.
- The ability to use initiative and anticipated forward planning
- Confident and competent user of MS Office with particular emphasis on spreadsheet proficiency.
