**This is a full time, open ended appointment and there are two vacancies available.**

**Birkbeck’s Wellbeing Services are seeking an experienced mental health professional to join them as a full-time Mental Health Advisor.**

This may include but is not limited to specialist clinical/mental health social workers, mental health nurses, clinical or counselling psychologists, CBT and DBT therapists with experience of working with clients in secondary and tertiary care settings and/or social services.

You will work collaboratively with internal and external professionals to develop and deliver a range of high-quality, evidenced-based services, interventions, initiatives, and campaigns throughout the academic year, primarily but not exclusively to students with known or suspected moderate to severe and enduring mental health conditions and autism, who may present in crisis.

You will respond to mental health crises, participate in the response to safeguarding concerns with appropriate support, formulate risk, collaboratively develop safety plans, and facilitate coordinated action to support student’s academic engagement, wellbeing, and safety.

**Additionally, You will provide staff training and guidance in relation to supporting students with disabilities.**

The purpose of this work is to promote an inclusive, healthy, and safe learning environment, facilitate equal opportunities, student engagement and full participation in academic studies and the university experience to ensure the college meets legislative and regulatory obligations and to enable students to fulfil their potential whilst staying well.

**Remuneration**:
Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £ 41,348 rising to £ 47,118 per annum.

The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
