- Job DescriptionThe role is 0800 x 1600 hrs Monday to Friday, there is no requirement to work weekends or bank holidays.

Whilst this post is for a full time member of staff - consideration would be given to part time working of 30 hrs/week, worked over 4 days - taking a Wednesday off on one week and the Friday off the second week.

You will join the existing team at Thorpe Wood Police station in Peterborough. Your role as a Police Property Officer will be to support the operational policing and reduce organisational risk by providing;
A managed service for the administration, storage and disposal of crime and evidential property.

**This will include**:

- Retaining seized property for evidential purposes in line with force policy.
- Manual handling and disposal of seized property.
- Reviewing and upkeeping records in relation to all aspects of the property management system (PMS).
- To recommend any improvements to storage facilities and processes.
- You will work with external partners, police officers and investigators to dispose of property efficiently and effectively.
- Delivering support and awareness of the property policies and all elements of the electronic records management system. You will also contribute to achieving Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s vision, purpose, and values.
- Dealing with enquiries from members of the public.

**What will you need ?**

This role can be quite physical at times with a significant amount of manual handling required. You must consider yourself in general good health and physically fit enough to carry out the role.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary are looking for someone that has a minimum of one year’s experience working in an office environment together with a minimum of two years’ experience of working in a customer facing role (retail, reception etc.) servicing the needs of customers effectively and dealing with complaints. To be considered for this role you will also need a GCSE or equivalent (minimum Grade C) in English Language.

You’ll need to be a confident communicator to be able to deal with upset, aggressive or confrontational people in a polite, diplomatic, and positive way. You will also demonstrate good degree of computer literacy, with knowledge of computer databases, and accurate keyboard skills.
