Team leader responsible for support and senior support workers at a resident children's home.
Main Purpose of Job
- To assist and support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in providing effective day-to-day management of Lifeworks Robins provision by delivering the very best short breaks and Residential Services for children and young people with Learning disabilitiesand/or complex needs.
- Ensuring 'Children First' and being ambitious for those we serve alongside evidencing best outcomes at all times underpins Robins ethos and service design and delivery.

Knowledge/Qualifications
E = Essential D = Desirable
- Diploma at Level 3 in either Children and Young People and extensive experience in a similar Team Leader/Senior role - E
- Other professional/childcare/social care/management if above not held - E
- Knowledge of the needs of learning disabled children and young people and best practices - E
- Level 2 or above Safeguarding Children Training - E
- Knowledge of Children Homes Regulations /Ofsted Inspection framework - D

**Skills**:E = Essential D = Desirable
- Able to understand differing needs and service delivery practices for children who may display behaviour that challenges and/or with associated health needs - E
- Ability to supervise line staff and ensure high practice standards - E
- Management of both routine and emergency operating policies and procedures including medication regimes, accident and incident reporting and safeguarding - E
- IT literate e.g. Microsoft word and outlook - E
- Non-verbal Communication Skills - D

Experience

- Experience of working with children and young people with additional needs and/or experience of working with people with learning disabilities - E
- Experience of working with people with complex needs /situations - D
- Experience at working at a supervisory level /leading care shifts - E
- Experience of working under pressure in a changing environment with unexpected practice issues and deadlines and need to prioritise work load /needs of children - E
- Experience of working effectively in a customer focused and outcome environment - E
