ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Background & purpose of role:
CMC Markets strives to provide the best trading experience for a wide spectrum of clients to participate in the financial markets. In order to expand this team, we are looking for an experienced Senior Quantitative Analyst to lead and mentor others whilst contributing fully towards our shared goals. Our Quants have responsibility for pricing models covering an expanding product range and also work to optimise CMC’s risk management strategies.

The Quantitative Analysis Team Lead position will offer a varied and fast-paced working environment, regularly interacting with the dealing, operations, risk and IT development teams. This is an excellent opportunity to be sitting in the core of the business and develop a deep understanding of the Market Making financial industry.

Key responsibilities:

- The Quantitative Analysis Team Lead will lead, mentor and help grow an existing team of Quantitative Analysts.
- Develop and maintain pricing models for brand new and increasingly complex products.
- Work with the Development teams to implement and improve pricing and risk management systems and algorithms.
- The Quantitative Analysis Team Lead will work with Senior members of Quantitative Strategies and Data Science team on dealing strategy improvement.
- Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- The Quantitative Analysis Team Lead will have professional experience in a quantitative analysis/development role from the financial services industry.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ideally with front-office facing FX, options or derivatives experience.
- Strong knowledge of general financial products and derivatives.
- Understanding of market microstructure.
- Strong skills in Python, Excel, SQL and time-series databases.
- Strong familiarity with Agile processes.
- Experience in leadership, mentoring and developing juniors.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
