**St Matts Leeds Youth Minister**

In what follows we will go into much more detail about the job but first and foremost we are seeking God’s guidance in providing the right person to lead our youth ministry.

We are seeking to employ a Youth Minister because we care deeply that our young people grow as disciples of Jesus Christ who can make more disciples. We believe that everyone matters to God and that God uses ordinary people like you and me to work with Him in this world. We currently have a youth work that is made up of around 35 young people but our desire is for that to grow and for our youth ministry to extend well beyond just ‘our kids’.

We need someone who will pray; listen to the Holy Spirit, and in conversation with the youth team, parents, carers, the young people themselves, and the wider church, lead the youth ministry of St Matts. We need a Youth Minister who can help us give our young people, and those young people who don’t know Jesus yet, the opportunity to be transformed by the life changing message of Jesus and to help them live this out in their lives.

The youth minister is a key and valued member of the St Matts staff team and the wider church, who will lead the youth work at St Matts for all young people of secondary school age and where appropriate help young people make the transition from youth ministry into the wider church.

**You will be**:
A committed Charismatic Evangelical Christian with a mature faith.

Someone who can demonstrate a clear gifting for youth ministry and an ability to lead others in this.

A person who is excited about young people - and passionate about them coming to know Jesus Christ and seeking His Kingdom above everything else in life.

Self-motivated, someone who has ideas and can, with the support of the team, make them happen.

An effective communicator who is able to connect with young people and inspire the wider church with a vision for youth.

Someone who is able to engage with young people but also their parents, carers, and the wider church - we need someone who will advocate for young people in every aspect of church life.

A person of strong leadership gifting, able to coordinate volunteers, empower a gifted youth team and model lifelong discipleship to the leaders as well as the youth.

Organised, flexible, courageous and kind

A relevant qualification in youth work/and or theology

A driving licence

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: £21,000.00-£23,200.00 per year
