Pen Green is a nursery school and children’s centre with some 250 children aged 2 to 4 years on roll at any one time. In addition we have up to 90 children aged 9 months to 3 years in our child care provision.

**Key Responsibilities**
- The position of Cleaner In Charge is to ensure that all internal and external areas of the premises are clean, well maintained and secure and janitorial tasks are carried out with the appropriate resources and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- The job holder will ensure that internal areas of the Centre are cleaned to a high standard using appropriate equipment, materials and resources ensuring that health and safety policies are followed in terms of hazards and exits and entrances kept clear for the safe use and passage of all users. The job holder will report regularly to the Site Supervisor on replenishing requirements for cleaning materials, personal hygiene materials and on any damages or defects to the site or equipment.
- The position also requires ensuring compliance processes are completed which includes daily, weekly and monthly checks which are all logged and recorded.
- There will be a requirement to set out and move furniture and equipment as directed by the line manager and onsite staff.
- The job holder will also be responsible for securing the premises, locking and unlocking doors, windows and gates as necessary to open and close the premises for daily operation, monitor the condition of the building, heating systems and alarms and report any faults or damage.
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
