**About us**

TLC Space is an independent occupational therapy clinic based in Grayshott, Hampshire. We work with children and young people who have sensory and physical needs. We are a team of occupational therapists and work in clinic, in schools and parental homes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team. The post will combine clinical and administrative support roles. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant you will work as a valued member of the Occupational Therapy Team supporting the Occupational Therapy practitioners and the team in both the clinical implementation of assessments, as well as group and individual interventions. Sensory Integration Theory, underpin the Occupational Therapy team's practice.

You will be expected to work within the clinic space alongside the team for 37 hours a week. You will receive regular supervision and learning opportunities to develop your skills. Part-time hours can be considered as well as term-time work.

Key tasks will be:

- Work with the Occupational Therapist to assist with the assessment and treatment of children and young people with diverse learning, developmental and physical needs.
- Work with the Practice Manager providing administrative, practical support and diary management to the clinic.
- Work with the Practice Manager contributing to social media strategy and management

**Person Specification - Occupational Therapist Assistant**

**Essential**:

- Grade A*-C or equivalent in English GCSE
- Willingness to learn and be part of a team
- Experience looking after children and young people
- Experience of supporting children or young adults with disabilities (desirable)
- Emotional resilience in working with behaviour that can be unexpected
- Proven ability to keep accurate records and reports
- Social media experience
- Proven ability to complete admin tasks including managing phone calls with public
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Due to our location, a driving licence or access to own transport is essential

**Desirable**:

- Experience of supporting children/young people with disabilities and additional needs.
- Basic understanding of the functional impacts of developmental difficulties.
- Understanding of the role of occupational therapy within a paediatric setting
- Awareness of the need for confidentiality within all aspects of work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly developed negotiation and problem solving skills
- Good presentation skills, both written and oral
- Ability to demonstrate an awareness of equality issues as it relates to professional conduct and employment practice
- Flexibility and strong “can do” attitude
- Enthusiasm
- Good IT skills.
- Willingness to learn
- Awareness of sensory processing difficulties
- Awareness of child development
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team with links to education and care
- Working with an occupational therapist

**Hours** : 37 hours per week (part-time hours will be considered)
