Trainee Tree Surgeon

**Job Title: Trainee Arborist**

**Reports to: Operations Manager**

**Job Purpose**:
A reliable and motivated person to be part of our team of Arborists, as a trainee. To develop skills and abilities as an Apprentice Tree Surgeon, learning all aspects of the role within the operational side of the business. Highly motivated and able to work to a high standard of safety and quality.

**Key objectives**:

- To work and fit in as part of the team
- To always work in a safe manner, with unequivocal attention to H&S
- To attend the workplace and College at the correct times
- To combine theory and practical on the job training
- To complete all paperwork for the training in a timely fashion
- To methodically achieve models such as CS 30, 31, 38, 39 or equivalent, MEWP, First Aid, Aerial Rescue to allow further training and progression in Arboriculture
- To ensure all tools and vehicles are kept in the highest order, clean and serviceable at all times.
- To understand and maintain a safe working environment for the general public whilst carrying out work
- To understand, recognise, comply with, and manage onsite any bio-security issues which may arise (e.g. Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (Chalara Ash Die Back) therefore reducing the spread of common pathogens, pests, diseases and disorders which may cause harm to the environment and/or neighbouring trees
- To carry out all works to a very high Arboricultural standard

**Qualifications**
- English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
- UK Driving Licence

**Experience**
- No Experience Required, a passion to succeed in the Arboricultural Industry

**Knowledge**
- No Knowledge required, however a desire to gain knowledge and train is essential

**Skills**
- Basic IT skills - For CRM Operational System

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
