Following induction and competency training, the post holder will undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, seeking support and guidance from senior staff when necessary. The post-holder will offer dietetic assessment, management, and treatment for a variety of nutritional issues in the inpatient setting. The post-holder will also be responsible for delivering outpatient clinics as required providing dietary advice on a range of clinical conditions including but not exclusive to gastroenterology, renal, oncology, stroke, home enteral nutrition, weight management and allergy.

Act as a dietetic specialist, responsible for the provision of evidence based nutrition advice and care in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Takes the lead in providing expert dietetic advice to the multidisciplinary team, liaising with all members to advise of dietetic treatment and management for patients and their families/carers.

To undertake regular dietetic outpatient clinics (face to face, telephone or video consultations).

Responsible for the dietetic management of patients with specialist conditions (gastroenterology, renal, oncology, stroke, home enteral nutrition, weight management and allergy).

Makes decisions regarding the appropriateness of specialised nutritional products in highly complex patients and adjusts treatment accordingly. Regularly prescribes nutritional products in line with trust policy
