Mulberry Community Project are looking for a dedicated, skilled and unique individual to become a full time member of the team at Mulberry. We want someone who will go the extra mile as standard, who wants to help people with their long term recovery, someone with a firm belief that abstinence is the way to go and someone who is non-judgemental and accepts that a person’s recovery journey is their own no matter which way that journey takes.

A knowledge of addiction and recovery is required and a working knowledge of ways to recovery would be very helpful.

The ability to work as part of a small but good team is essential as is the ability to drive and own a car. As part of your duties you would be expected to organise and facilitate groups, support people through 1-1 work, help in getting the houses and rooms ready for occupation, carrying out thorough assessments in any environment, represent Mulberry at outside meetings and other work as required. The work is varied.

We work with the Drug and Alcohol Outcome Star online system and you will be trained in this and keeping up the paperwork and reporting is essential.

**Job Purpose**

To assist those in recovery from substance misuse issues to maintain an abstinent based independent lifestyle. This includes
- To be part of a caring team which will consider, construct and implement individual assessments and support plans
- To be responsible for the individual support and well-being of the residents.
- To provide support to residents
- To maintain a flexible attitude to duties, being prepared to undertake what is required by the Manager relative to the support of residents and security of the accommodation
- To maintain a harmonious atmosphere within the project, good relations with other professionals and agencies.

**General Duties**
- To help foster an ethos that is relaxed, accepting and homely in which the resident’s happiness, well-being and progress are of primary importance.
- To help ensure proper procedures are followed in relation to referrals, assessments, support and move on in order to achieve the purpose of the project, which is to help those suffering from drug and/or alcohol addiction to achieve control over their lives and begin the road to recovery.
- To respect confidentiality and equality and diversity regarding project matters
- To participate in monitoring residents progress and undertake to give verbal and written reports as required
- To communicate with outside agencies clearly and efficiently as required
- To preserve the charisma and philosophy of the Mulberry Community Project
- To work with allocated residents, putting together support plans with the resident
- To provide 1-1 support for residents working together to achieve goals on support plans and updating the support plans when needed
- To contribute towards to record keeping
- To attend and participate in staff meetings/hand overs where possible
- To participate in staff supervision
- To possess and maintain a flexible attitude towards duties
- Take appropriate action, in accord with procedures, in the event of an emergency arising in the project

**Tenancy Management**
- Ensure tenants understand their license agreement, their rights and obligations
- Ensure tenants comply with the terms of their license
- Report breaches of license to the manager
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of license agreements providing information and advice on license issues as they arise
- Make sure house/rooms are cleaned and equipped for residents moving in
- Carry out house meetings in each of the properties reporting any repairs to the handy person and putting minutes in to the house meeting file
- Carry out house and room checks

**Group Work**
- Establish a group programme in agreement with other group workers
- Facilitate group work
- Encourage and assist tenant participation, consultation and ensure they play a part in the smooth running of the property

**Testing**

Carry out drug/alcohol testing of residents, recording results and reporting when stock needs reordering

**Promotional Work**
- Establish working relationships with other agencies and maintain contact with them, arranging visits and assessments when needed
- Ensure that external agencies understand the work of Mulberry Community Project so they can make appropriate referrals
- Promote Mulberry to agencies and groups who will make referrals and who Mulberry will make referrals to.

Pay: £22,500.00-£25,500.00 per year
