**Job Title**:Kitting Technician (Aerospace)

**Location**:India Mill, Darwen

**Salary**: £10.75 an hour, depending on skills, experience, and relevant qualifications.

**Job Type**: 4 days per week, 37 hours Monday - Thursday

Overtime is available from Friday to Sunday at Premium rates of pay

**The role**:
The role is integral within the Shared Services Value Stream (Goods In/Out, Stores, Ply Cutting, Inspection) and is intended to primarily provide support and, during periods of absence, cover for the following areas: Ply cutting room and Material Control (however dependent upon business needs cover within the wider stores, goods in and dispatch areas may on occasion be necessary).

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Ply cutting room
- Bagging and sealing kits
- Peel ply production
- Issuing material to kits
- Transferring kits to the freezer and booking into an accurate location in Epicor
- Assisting with weekly cleaning of the ply cutting room
- Learn and become capable of operating the ply cutting machines to assist or cover for the ply cutting operators
- TATS Materials control
- Support in managing the freezer stocks and the organization of the freezer
- Book materials into/out of the freezer accurately and in a timely manner
- Become competent in TATS inspection
- Physically assist in withdrawing kits and rolls from the freezer
- Transfer rolls to and from ply cutting
- Transfer kits and rolls to and from Holme Mill
- Transfer material to and from India Mill
- Support stock takes/cycle counting
- Mathematics - numerate.
- Experience of manual handling.
- Excellent attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accurate, timely transactions and records.
- Effective communicator at all levels
- Able to organise their workload within a busy department.
- Organised and methodical.
- Able to complete a high volume of work within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work both within a team but also able to work independently with minimal supervision their own initiative.
- Flexibility to support departmental and business needs. - this will include being able and willing to work overtime at relatively short notice and to flex their working hours to suit demand/capacity.
**Desirable Characteristics**:

- Science background - to assist when checking materials against customer specifications.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment with exposure to inventory control, handling stock and stock rotation.
- Previous Counterbalance FLT experience/current license.

- Holidays start at 28 days per year (including Bank Holidays) (Based on 4 day week).
- Overtime rates after basic hours are 1.5 of your basic hourly rate, and Fridays and Saturdays
- Overtime rates for Sundays are 2.0 of your basic hourly rate.
