A great opportunity has become available for a reliable and skilled **Roofer **to join a regional company recognised for developing and training its staff to succeed in their roles based in **Woking.** You will join them on a **full-time, permanent basis,** and in return, you will receive a **competitive salary.**

Our client is an expanding construction and maintenance company focused on delivering exceptional service to its clients and customers. They employ over 330 staff based across the south of England.

Our client has recently secured a contract with Woking Borough Council to provide responsive maintenance and void property works plus gas heating maintenance for both in hours and part of a call out rota.

**About the role**:
They are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic **Roofer**with a can-do attitude and highly flexible approach to deliver high quality roofing repairs and maintenance works to a domestic properties. The roofer must maintain a professionalappearance and attitude and be always polite and courteous. It is a further requirement that all operatives must pass a DBS Vetting check.

The principle objective is to maintain high client satisfaction through delivery of maintenance and repairs services ensuring a controlled and safe environment whilst working effectively and in a timely manner and balancing constantly changing priorities.

The attention to detail and ensuring that they conclude their work, with the right first-time approach to maximise and enhance their reputation with their customers, is paramount to the success of the contract.

**Key responsibilities as their** **Roofer will include**:

- Carrying out roofing repairs and maintenance and ensuring that all work undertaken is completed with due regard for quality, productivity and safety
- Setting up controlled working area using barriers
- Referring to generic risk assessments and carry out point of work risk assessments
- Inspecting roof defects to determine the best repair solution and methods
- Repairing and maintaining flat, tiled, and slated roofs
- Undertaking minor carpentry work as necessary in association with roofing work
- Carrying out minor lead or metal flashing works in association with roofing work
- Carrying out minor repointing and brickwork associated with roofing work
- Ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and returned promptly
- Providing excellent service to clients and maintain a good customer relationship as a priority
- Always representing the company and ensuring that customers are completely satisfied
- Complying with HSG33 - Health & Safety in Roof Work
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Acts of Parliament and Statutory Instruments; e.g. Local Authority Byelaws, Water Regulations, Building Regulations, HSE Codes of Practice

**What they are looking for in their Roofer**:

- A minimum NVQ Level 2 in Roofing Occupations or equivalent
- PASMA / TETRA trained (advantageous)
- Full current driving licence
- A DBS check is required before commencing of role
- Over 3 years trade experience, ideally in the housing repairs sector
- Ability to demonstrate you are a competent tradesperson and have the tools to do the work
- Prerequisite technical, statutory, and legislative knowledge for the trades you perform for the company ensuring you keep abreast of updates and changes.
- Knowledge of the materials and methods used in the building and maintenance industry
- Ability to use the phone or PDA to communicate effectively, explaining yourself clearly and concisely understanding what information you need or need to provide
- Understand the need to complete outstanding pieces of work and deal with work, completely and in one go
- An organised approach to meet the demands of the company and the client in an effective and timely manner. To know when it is right to pull on resource and when you can act on your own
