**Key areas of responsibility**
- Committed to and endorsing the highest levels of customer service, merchandising and product knowledge - with a specific focus on wine & wine sales
- Managing and delivering wine tastings, including; in shop, public events, private events and specialist wine dinners.
- Continually focus on driving sales to ensure that our Shops makes a significant financial contribution to Rothschild Waddesdon Ltd
- Review and develop the Catering Wine List offer for all onsite dining.
- Deliver wine training for the Retail & Catering teams
- Contribute to the range planning for Wines & Spirits sold in the Wine Shop.
- Ensure the Wine, Gift and Temporary Shops are staffed appropriately in absence of the Shop Manager
- Ensure the Wine, Gift, Woodland Toy and Temporary Shop is presented to the highest standards in the Shop manager’s absence.

**The Wine Ambassador’s success will be monitored through**:

- Weekly sales results
- Customer feedback
- Weekly departmental meetings
- Annual Recognition Conversations meeting with the Head of Retail

**The key areas of responsibility and duties of the Wine Ambassador are as follows**:
**Finance**

Ensure all monies and transactions on the Shop floors are in accordance with Accounts, PCI Compliance standards and money laundering due diligence.
- Ensure that all financial procedures are executed according to company policy; including end of day cash reconciliation, maintenance of floats and cash bulk & pay roll
- Responsible for high value sales and stock, such as the personal selling of Grand Vin wines
- Informing the Management Team and/or RWL Administrator of areas of concern with low or high stock holdings
- Ensure that stocktakes are undertaken on time and accurately, working with the RWL Administrator and Stock Room volunteers to ensure the stock is well managed.
- Minimise wastage of perishable stock by; carrying out reductions and promotions where necessary and ensuring stock rotation is carried out by the whole team.

**Business**
- Work with the management team in creatively maximising all Wine Shop sales
- Organise and deliver wine events to public and private groups
- Work with the HOD to ensure the wine buying range is effective and profitable
- Manage & deliver tastings on the shop floor, working with Retail staff and volunteers
- Initiate and recognise opportunities to sell to high spending visitors and groups
- Manage and execute efficient and accurate pricing/ processing of stock deliveries
- Ensure Stock rooms are kept well organised, tidy and safe in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations, whilst keeping a strong knowledge of current products
- Plan and adapt the staff rota to ensure areas are staffed to an appropriate level
- Work with software providers, and support services within the National Trust and Waddesdon to ensure business continuity through seamless provision of financial information systems

- Assist the HOD to ensure sales are maximised by effective visual merchandising on the Shop floors
