Revenues Inspector

Overview:
Harrow Council is currently recruiting for a Revenues Inspector to support the Council’s provision of service by maintaining collection rates and maximising yield. This role is critical to ensure that inspections are carried out efficiently and effectively to enable officers to make determinations and reviews about discounts, reliefs and exemptions as well as determining liability and supporting no trace enquiries as well as defending any appeals against completion notices. The post holder will be required to carry out inspections and any other investigations in order to establish liability, determine any reduction entitlement and any potential changes to the local lists.

About you:
The successful applicant will have:

- Knowledge of Council Tax & Business Rates regulations
- Ability to learn Northgate and Civica systems
- Good IT knowledge including excel
- Self-motivated with ability to work on your own initiative in a highly pressurised environment
- Ability to liaise, build and preserve relationships with internal and external partners
