**Environmental & Compliance Advisor**
Production Engineering Section
A permanent vacancy has arisen within our clients Production Engineering Section for an **Environmental & Compliance Advisor**.
Key aspects of this position would be to support site goals to achieve corporate objectives towards Net Zero. Identify key areas for business improvements to reduce business carbon footprint and reduce overheads. Liaise with suppliers, raising business cases to purchase new plant & equipment.
**The main duties of the post involve;**
- Ensuring all aspects of Environmental, Safety and Quality are documented and embedded into their processes.
- Liaise with select Air conditioning companies to support common understanding and implementation of EU/UK directives
- Feedback and provide technical expertise in the understanding and interpretation of relevant directives to the business
- Assist operations management in maintaining compliances with environmental related matters and investigate issues.
- Work as a member of the Engineering/Facilities and Maintenance team to advise and highlight any issues that may affect product design and process design
- Support environmental investigations and waste acceptance programs.
- Support energy audits across all sites.
- Provides compliance support, plans and reports to support facilities team.
- Responsible for techniques for handling hazardous materials, chemicals and toxins in view of existing standards.
- Support team with ISO14001 & ISO50001 or similar.
- Manage energy saving opportunity scheme (ESOS)
- Investigating ways for the company to benefit from government initiatives-grants etc.
- Obtaining and maintaining plans, permits and standard operating procedures (effluent discharge permits, emissions etc.)
- Supporting the company on reducing carbon foot print.
- Interpreting data - Water, waste and energy consumption.
- Data gathering and analysis to support return on investment (ROI)
- Consultation/briefings with various levels of staff within the business and third parties for decarbonising projects and initiatives.
**Key skills, knowledge and experience required;**
- Preferably 3~5 years of environment or compliance experience
- Environmental/sustainability graduates welcome to apply
- Experience with Managing ISO standard and BSI audits
- Project management experience ( preferable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effective meetings skills
- Knowledge of ISO14001 and 50001, and PAS 2060
- Understanding of F-Gas regulations - (preferable)
- Understanding of plastic packaging regulations
- (preferable)
**Salary**: £38,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
