**Deputy Laboratory Manager - Southport**

Have you got analytical laboratory experience and some background in a supervisory role?

Are you looking to progress your career within an expanding pharmaceutical organisation which has been established for over 100 years?

We are assisting a long standing client of ours, a pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Southport, Merseyside as they look to appoint a new **Deputy Laboratory Manager** for their manufacturing facility. The role of Deputy Laboratory Manager will be to primarily to support the manufacturing facility with testing and also the release of manufacturing pharmaceutical products.

**The Job**:
The Deputy Laboratory Manager will have the following job roles and responsibilities:

- Supervise team of analysts in the quality control and goods in laboratories
- Ensure compliance to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and health and safety requirements
- Review completed analytical reports and update files
- Perform sample testing and method development and validation
- Deputise for QC Manager in their absence
- Provide technical support and assist with equipment maintenance and calibration

**The Person**:

- Degree in chemical science or similar discipline
- Previous management or supervisory skills within a team of analytics
- Analytical experience with HPLC, Gas Chromatography and IR and NIR spectroscopy
- Experience testing to British Pharmacopoeia

**The Package**:

- Salary to be discussed
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Company contributory pension - 3%
- Monday to Friday 8:00 - 4:30
