SG World are looking to grow our Finance Department with the addition of a Finance Apprentice. The role will report to our Financial Controller and will be a valuable member of the team where you will you learn, flourish and be fully supported.

This role will give you loads of hands-on experience and on the job training to help propel your career in Finance.

SG World is a 54-year-old business that has grown in the heart of Crewe. We pride ourselves on our looking after our people. SG World manufactures various Visitor Management and Health & Safety systems and has a presence in Europe as well as the USA.

SG World is committed to the Apprenticeship Programme having many successful apprentices in the past. Recently, one of our current Apprentices was recognised by South Cheshire Chamber as a finalist for Apprentice of the Year. In fact, our Financial Controller also started as one of our Finance Apprentices.

As part of the apprenticeship, you will be required to complete the AAT qualification. Your studies will be supported by in house training alongside the 20% off the job training required as part of the Apprenticeship Scheme.

Our induction programme will involve a lot of partnering up and shadowing of other Finance members to help build you knowledge and confidence as you get to know the role.

**Your day-to-day tasks**
- Learn to process all supplier invoices for the group of companies within SG World and accurately code them to the general ledger.
- Understand how the above fits in with the financial accounts.
- Acquire skills to reconcile supplier statements.
- Ensure all relevant invoices and statements are obtained from supplier websites/portals.
- Produce suggested supplier payment runs.
- Learn how to communicate with suppliers.
- Ensure that information provided is timely and accurate to be used in the cashflow forecasting process.
- Become responsible for the preparation, checking and posting of all employee expenses on a monthly basis.
- Learn to prepare accruals if invoices are not available at month end cut off.
- Eventually become responsible for the preparation, checking, and posting of all employee credit cards on a monthly basis.
- Assist with the reconciliation of the aged creditors reports to the general ledger on a monthly basis and explain anomalies including credit balances etc.
- Gain an understanding of what National statistics forms are and complete in a timely manner to ensure full compliance.

**Skills & Knowledge**
- Undertake the apprenticeship training including an AAT NVQ qualification
- Basic Computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Maths grade 4 (at least C))
- Excellent written, verbal communication and listening skills
- Attention to detail
