Project Profile

Reed Professional Services are working with a Media Company's Sports department across a family of products, which consists of full stack development teams building scalable back-end services and hosted on AWS, as well as responsive front ends in React andJavaScript.

As the department goes through a transformation in terms of its online offering, RPS are looking for a

AWS Specialist to join a wider team to drive forward these changes/enhancements across multiple departments.

As an AWS Specialist you will be expected to contribute to the design and implementation of major

digital changes and ensure on time delivery of robust, industry leading solutions.

Required Skills and Competencies

¦ Hands on experience with JavaScript skills across the full stack, including Typescript and ReactJS.

¦ Competent experience of designing and building small scale services comprising of a RESTful API

Gateway, a collection of Lambda functions and Aurora Serverless clusters.

¦ Strong experience with AWS.

¦ Experience mentoring/ aiding the building of a new architecture with less experienced colleagues,

helping to drive out the best solutions.

¦ Troubleshoot issues and solve problems, identifying potential process improvement areas.

¦ Driven self-starter helping to deliver quality results on time with mínimal supervision.

¦ Ability to work alongside architecture and engineering teams to design and implement any scalable

software services.

¦ Stay current with new technology options and vendor products, evaluating which ones would be a

good fit for the company.

¦ Excellent communication skills, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment closely with

senior stakeholders.

Desirable skills

¦ Experience working with sports data.

Additional Information

Travel to offices in Salford 1 day per week.
