**Overview of the role**:
The role of the Materials Planner is to plan and control an assigned portfolio of parts from multiple suppliers in accordance with scheduled demand. Planning and expediting parts are core activities of this varied and rewarding job.

A real sense of urgency, excellent problem solving skills and the ability to communicate cross-functionally are pre-requisites for this highly visible role in a complex manufacturing facility.

This role is based at our Earthmovers site in Cheadle, Staffordshire.

**Your Responsibilities as a Materials Planner**:

- Material Requirements Planning from an international supply base in line with scheduled requirements and any changes to build plan
- Management of supplier adherence to schedule
- Continuity of supply of parts to assembly and manufacturing operations
- Inventory Management - Maintenance of MRP Parameters, continual review of stock levels to budget and transactional accuracy.
- Pro-active review and continuous improvement of suppliers / logistics / transportation / packaging
- Maintenance of performance in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Problem solving / process improvement initiatives

**About you**:

- Demonstrable materials planning experience
- Working knowledge of SAP/Production planning systems is essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly PC literate
- Well organised
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Driven to achieve results
