Job Introduction
**Do you have experience with special educational needs and are seeking a new challenge and responsibility?**

In Solihull we are committed to improving the lives of Children and Young People with SEND and are looking for a dedicated Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Caseworker to join our EHCP Service.

We currently have two opportunities to join our team:

- ** Education, Health and Care Plan Caseworker - Fulltime (37 Hours per week) Permanent.**
- **
Education, Health and Care Plan Caseworker - Full time (37 hours per week) Fixed Term Contract - 2 years due to external funding.**

As an EHCP Caseworker you will:

- Work alongside and proactively assist, the EHCP Officers to provide comprehensive casework and frontline support for a caseload of children and young people with special educational needs.
- Administer and collate information from a number of partner services in line with the local authority’s legal duties and working processes.
- Create and maintain records that support the team to manage workloads. The EHCP Officers will retain overall responsibility for each case.
- Provide monthly data to support the meeting of statutory timescales.

This is an administrative support post which will require strong organisation skills. To be successful in this post, you will have a strong level of administrative experience, working in an EHCP administrative role OR have experience of working with children or young people with SEND (or their families) in a social care, educational or voluntary setting.

You will also need:

- Knowledge of working to the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Code of Practice and Statutory SEN processes.
- Experience of using databases and Microsoft Office Packages, including Excel, Word and Outlook (or equivalent).
- Effective organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise own workload, meet targets and tight deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- The ability to communicate complex and sensitive information with parents/ carers and young people, showing empathy particularly in times of challenge.

Within this fascinating and rewarding role you will work under the guidance and direction of the EHCP Caseworker Hub Manager and in line with agreed departmental standards and procedures.

This role is based in our collaborative open plan office space with options of working from home some of the time. The team currently work in the office 2/3 days per week.
