**Surgical Internship Programme at Highcroft Veterinary Referrals/ Bristol Veterinary Specialists**

We are looking for one enthusiastic and highly motivated surgical intern who is committed to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care and who would relish the opportunity to further his/her surgical career and improve his/her knowledge base and technical skills. Of the eight interns that have completed the Highcroft Veterinary Referrals surgery internship so far, 6 have gone on to secure ECVS residency programs.

Highcroft Veterinary Referrals is a specialist led, referral only hospital located in Bristol. In spring 2023, Highcroft Veterinary Referral will be moving to a new state-of-the-art hospital in Avonmouth and become Bristol Veterinary Specialists. This new facility will be offering a broad range of Specialist veterinary referral services including internal medicine, emergency and critical care, oncology, soft tissue surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, anaesthesia, imaging, dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry. With state-of-the-art equipment and highly experienced nursing teams, we will continue to receive cases from all over the country, with the assurance of exceptional care to all our patients.

The internship at Bristol Veterinary Specialist is a 12-month fixed-term position. In this exciting role, you will work under the supervision and support of surgical Specialists.

A proactive, professional approach, positive attitude at all times, outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to stay calm under pressure, great teamwork skills, along with a commitment to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care is required.
