Bristol, United Kingdom Jammy Recruitment Full time

As the Financial Controller you're not joining a company you're joining a mission. To fix the housing crisis. Address the climate emergency through carbon capture. And disrupt social housing. Targeting an IPO you'll learn lots. And fast.
The company currently has 15 employees. And uses external agents as part of people strategy. So a pragmatic approach will be required in certain situations.
**Your new role**
If you enjoy variety and change you'll enjoy this role. Because working in an ambitious and growing company is different. Priorities will change. The role will evolve. And pressures, opportunities and challenges are simply part of BAU.
Surrounded by a passionate team you will all be moving in the same direction. Deliver the same goals and objectives. And reinforced by their overarching value of respect for people and the planet.
Reporting into the CFO the Financial Controller will spearhead the movement from start up, standardising the routine and humanising the exceptions.
Initially this will include; the management and mitigation of risks and opportunities, implementation of processes and enhancing insight through management accounting. And with the company utilising the five capitals model enhancement of a KPI framework willfeature heavily. So quantifying these impacts, monitoring and reporting to senior stakeholders will be part of the Financial Controller's role.
And learning from a seasoned CFO who has led IPO's and raising of funds on the Alternative Investment Market there will be a natural opportunity to be exposed to critical skills that will support your finance career.
The statutory elements of financial reporting, payroll and transactional finance are outsourced to external Accountants and a bookkeeper although communication will be required with these important parties.
So if you are ambitious. Dynamic. Creative. And comfortable with being uncomfortable. The Financial Controller role within this growing company will only accelerate your career towards Finance Director. Or even CFO.
**Benefits**
- Base salary: £50k to £55k.
- Working from home: ~3 day per week | Bristol (BS1) ~2 days.
- Holiday: 25 days per year (excluding bank holidays).
- EMI scheme (eligibility after probationary period).

**Skills and experience to be successful**
- A qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Implementation and improvement of processes.
- The evolution of KPI frameworks.
- Ability to manage and mitigate risks in a scale up environment.
- The quantification of financial and non-financial items.
- Ability to deal with external parties.
- Knowledge of carbon accounting would be useful.

**The Interview Process**
- 30 minute recruiter call discussing your requirements and suitability.
- 60 minute TEAMS interview with the CFO and/or one of the Co-Founders.
- 90 minute face to face meeting and presentation with the CFO and one of the Co-Founders.
