Production Supervisor

Bennett and Game are currently working with a Warehouse & Distribution company actively seeking a new a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join their Bedford location.

Our client manages carrier contracts, held with most of the major carriers, specifically to provide you with the widest possible range of choice at the most competitive possible prices. Due to continued growth they are looking for a self motivated individualto join their team.

**Production Supervisor ManagerPosition Overview**
- Production Planning - on a weekly and daily basis
- Detailed knowledge of what is required in terms of the nature of the work we do for the clients

(daily orders, kitting and collation, etc.)
- Timings on repeating work - daily orders etc.
- Space requirements
- Interrogating the costs, the client management team and the forecast and actual hours, to help continuously refine and development to resource allocation.
- They are responsible for ensuring that, for the work that falls within their area, the business plans/allocates.
- To ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. They should continually monitor the effectiveness of their planning by reference to the comparison of actual versus forecast hours on the daily production board.
- Having been involved in the production planning, it is then the Supervisor's job to ensure that those plans are implemented effectively; checking that in their specific areas of responsibility they complete jobs within the time allowed, taking the timeand care to ensure that we are consistently getting it right first time.
- People management - including training, development, performance management, etc.
- Stock management/inventory control - on a client-by-client basis and across their area/unit
- Interdepartmental communication and reporting
- The Supervisors need to work closely with all the other areas of the business. They will be responsible for liaison with:

- Goods inwards - to ensure that stock delivered into Ark-H is checked appropriately, logged on time and located in the right area
- Client and customer services - to interrogate job briefs and ensure that they understand the requirements; to provide accurate and timely answers to queries raised by clients with the client management team; and to report back on job completion.
- Despatch - to ensure that they are pre-warned of any unusual despatch requirements in terms of either label generation or transport requirements.
- They will also be responsible for direct communication with IT about any systems issues that arise in their area.
- In other words, everything the Supervisors are responsible for makes up over 60% of the things that enable the business to provide a quality service, right first time every time, to the clients who make our business viable.

- Productivity/Profitability of work - on a job by job/client by client basis
- People management - including training, development, performance management, etc.
- Stock management/inventory control - on a client-by-client basis and across their area/unit as a whole
- Interdepartmental communication and reporting
- Quality - in all the above areas and including LEAN

**Production Supervisor ManagerPosition Remuneration**
- Salary:£11-12 an hour (which will increase after probation)
- Monday - Friday
- 8:00am - 17:30pm (42.5 hour weeks)
- With occasional evenings or Saturday work
- 22 days holiday (plus banks)
- Free parking on site
