**An excellent opportunity for a skilled Fabricator / Welder / Fitter for a specialist, long-standing engineering company based in the Stourbridge area,**with the key responsibilities being to ensure that fabrication and welding of the company’s products and services are carried out in a professional manner and within time restrictions, whilst ensuring that all welded associated documentation is signedand completed on a timely basis.

The role of Fabricator / Welder / Fitter will report directly to the Fabrication Manager and Directors of the business and work daily with the Workshop Coordinators and Quality Manager.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Fabricator / Welder / Fitter**:

- Fabrication involves the marking out, production of templates, cutting, forming, profiling, fitting, measuring and welding materials to create the desired product form in accordance to specification.
- Carry out welding processes in TIG/FCAW/MMA by way of Weld Procedures, Job Packs and Route Cards.
- To carry out various contracts/projects with regards to fabrication and welding.
- Work autonomously with mínimal supervision and to tight time-frames / deadlines but also work as part of a bigger team to achieve end product results.
- To partake in our mandatory training program.
- Work in a clean/tidy exhibiting good housekeeping within your working environment.
- Work in a safe manner, follow instructions and standard procedures.

**Key Personal Qualities Required for the Fabricator / Welder / Fitter role**:

- Be practical and enjoy working with hands and have an analytical mind.
- Must be conscientious, ambitious and willing to learn and strive for continuous improvement
- Must be able and willing to work as a team player.
- Must be able to communicate both internally and externally.
- Must be diligent, enthusiastic and retain integrity even when working in extreme pressurised conditions.
- Must be flexible and well organized.

**Required Qualifications and Skills of the Fabricator / Welder / Fitter**
- Have a generally good educational background, ideally apprenticed served, have practical experience in fabrication and welding.
- Must be able to read and work to drawings, weld procedure specifications, and work instructions producing products from start to the finished article.
- Must be able to recognize and understand welding symbols.
- Able to use a variety of hand, machine and measuring tools and equipment.

**Required Experience for the Fabricator / Welder / Fitter**
- Previous experience within the oil & gas industry would be advantageous but not essential.
- Previous working experience with a specialist precision engineering company preferably involving vessel and pipework.
- Ideally, but not essentially, previously coded to BSEN287, BS ISO 9606 and/or ASME IX.
- Experienced TIG/FCAW/MMA Welder with a variety of materials including Carbon Steel and Stainless Steels.
