Pharmacy counter assistants do a lot more than serving customer and handing out prescriptions. Every day you'll have the opportunity to make things better for customers in all sorts of ways, such as helping customers with their new medication, helping delivering flu services, reviewing customers' use of their medication and advising patients on over the counter medicines. It's very much about supporting our communities, by making the best healthcare choices available and convenient for local people.
We are hiring for 2 medicine counter assistants to cover working hours of 44.5 hours per week. We would like people who are motivated and want to work as part of our team in this challenging and rewarding job to help patients in the local community. Applicants must have good communication skills as they will be dealing with members of the public. People who we are hiring will be enrolled onto the Medicines Counter Assistants course, fully funded by the pharmacy which has NVQ status in this incredibly rewarding job as part of the local community.
Details of the role will include a variety of tasks which will include:
- Serving customers and making sales of over the counter medication.
- Receiving and managing stock
- Merchandising & display.
- Dealing with Prescription Queries, handing out of prescriptions and providing medical advice.
Assisting in providing other services in the pharmacy such as flu jabs. Advising on new medicines, pressure checks as well as others.
We are looking for talented and driven applicants who can help deliver high quality services to our customer and patients. We are a supportive team and provide training within the role to assist in your development to help provide services to patients. Applicants must have good communication skills as they will be dealing with members of the public and have an interest in healthcare.
Applicants must be able to work in the retail environment, Handling customer enquiries, Self-motivated and hard working, well organized and able to work to deadlines. We are looking for applicants who are adaptable and multi-skilled in this role as in the pharmacy environment not every day is the same, which presents an exciting challenge.
