- Figures based on base salary of £21,283 per annum, working full time (37.5 hours per week), month, and 25% hourly enhanced pay for weekend shift.

2 yearly salary increments.

**Main Responsibilities**
- As a Residential Support Worker you will work as part of a residential care team providing support for individuals with their physical, emotional and social needs with an emphasis on promoting independence.
- Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, your role as Residential Support Worker will be to prepare, assist and enable the young people to fulfil the aims of their person-centred plan.
- You will work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the young people with inclusivity, as individuals, in Woodlands and in the community.
- You will be expected to key work children & young people.
- You will support children and young people with a range of communication methods to promote choices, fulfilment and achievement.
- Some of the children that attend Woodlands have complex health needs. Stoma care, Gastro feeding and administration of medication will be a part of your role. Specialist training will be provided.

**About the service**
- Woodlands is a short break service providing respite and shared care for children/young people with a range of complex needs who have a learning and/or physical disability and sensory impairments. The children / young people who access Woodlands require personal care, medication, supportive strategies to help ease any anxieties / frustrations they may have e.g. with communication and ongoing encouragement with independence skills, learning, new experiences and achievements.

**About you & Qualifications**
- Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience in a similar background, but it’s not essential as full training will be provided.
Good communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be expected to liaise with other staff, parents/carers and professionals.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.
You’ll be writing reports, so a good standard of written English and IT skills would be essential.
Transporting children / young people to an activity or school is a requirement. A driving licence that has been held for 12 months would be desirable.
