Passionate about giving children and young people a great start in life?
Our priority in Herefordshire is to keep children safe and give them a great start in life. It’s the priority for the council, our partners and for all of us who work in the Children’s Wellbeing directorate.
How do we do this? By having dynamic, dedicated, passionate and professional staff who work in a culture that focuses on what we can achieve with children, what they can achieve themselves, and the relationship we build with families and partners to enable this.
Herefordshire has a really strong team ethos. Our teams are passionate about the work they do and the positive difference they and the teams they are in make to people’s lives. This is all underpinned by the focus and support from their managers and the council as a whole.
**Come to Herefordshire and join our exciting journey through our Signs of Safety practice framework**
This is an exciting time to join Herefordshire Council Children’s Well-being Directorate as we consolidate our improvement to shape learning and development across the service. We have also adopted our new strengths and relationship based practice framework; Signs of Safety.
We have a vacancy for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our Children’s Social Care Academy and support the Quality Assurance Service Manager in both the development and delivery of the Signs of Safety quality assurance framework, promoting practice that leads to sustained improvement and high quality outcomes for children and young people.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for and experience in identifying ways of continually improving how we deliver our support services and will take an active role in helping shape how we implement our vision of “doing our very best for Herefordshire children and young people and their families”.
In the role of quality assurance officer, you will be responsible for co-ordinating quality assurance activities, supporting the delivery of learning from collaborative audit findings, and ensuring that the voice of children, young people their parents and carers is central to how we practice. You will know what good practice is and looks like, using this to develop solutions in a collaborative way with colleagues and partner agencies, working to ensure that practice is of high quality throughout the service. The ultimate aim is for us to know how we are making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people we support.
You will have good people skills, have the ability to understand the diverse needs of others, not shy away from difficult conversations, and embody the shared values of children’s services, placing children and young people at the heart of what we do.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that takes an active role in steering how we develop our Signs of Safety practice as an organisation.
We welcome applicants whatever their personal characteristics or social identity. All requests for flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments will be considered.
