Your days will be rewarding and varied and include acting as the first point of contact and managing a caseload of applicants to ensure all required information is ready for review.

You will have administrative experience of working in a busy, customer facing environment, using a database to update case notes.
- Full induction training will be given followed by a structured personal development plan which will include benefits training and a deep understanding of the support and signposting available to clients._
- The role is hybrid - working at least 2 days a week from the office in Sandhurst and the other days from home._

**The Charity**

GroceryAid has been the charity for the whole grocery industry since 1857. It provides free and confidential financial, emotional and practical support to anyone working in the grocery industry, from the first day of their employment.

GroceryAid has gained a reputation for running some of the most exciting fundraising events in the industry calendar, including the only trade music festival called Barcode Festival, the Sporting Lunch and London to Paris Cycle PLUS unique retailer events including the Sainsbury’s Big Bash and Co-op Windermere Row.

The charity has also been working as part of an industry partnership to deliver the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) in Grocery Programme. With 90+ FMCG partner brands, it is working towards the common goal of accelerating a diverse and inclusive grocery industry.

**Job Role**
- Deal with clients in a sensitive way, particularly taking into consideration that they may be distressed or vulnerable and have an understanding of complexities they may face.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and good decision-making skills.
- Work calmly and productively under pressure and keep to deadlines.
- Help applicants and beneficiaries navigate through the services GroceryAid provide and identify additional areas of support that may be of benefit.
- Check that all applicants meet the funding criteria, advise them on the appropriate processes and keep them and legacy beneficiaries informed on progress.
- Create, record and log all communications with applicants to a high standard and in a compliant and non-judgmental way.
- Actively manage tasks allocated through database work queues complying with timescales.
- Participate in internal/external meetings as required and attend training events and conferences as necessary.
- Work with colleagues, volunteers and supporters in a supportive and collaborative way to meet GroceryAid’s charitable goals.
- Keep up to date with the benefits knowledge and undertake to regular training and meetings to extend and update own knowledge of grant making, health and wellbeing.

**Experience and Skills**
- Excellent administration skills with an eye for detail.
- Strong client servicing skills used for dealing with difficult situations.
- High energy, drive, and passion to deliver the best experience for our applicants whilst working at pace across multiple cases.
- Confident communication skills to ensure that you both collect the information needed and set realistic expectation to clients to enable impactful grants and drive satisfaction.
- Confident with Microsoft Office and have experience of using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
- Experience of working with a vulnerable client group would be an advantage.

**Salary and Benefits**
- Hours are full-time / 34 per week working Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4pm
