**Main Duties**
- Greets and serves customers, promotes coffee consumption by educating customers on coffee types.
- Prepares, serves and sells a variety of hot drinks, along with pastries and cookies. Operates coffee grinding and brewing equipment and accessories.
- Ensures food is correctly and safely prepared in line with the HACCP regulations.
- Ensures that standards of service required by the contract are maintained and that work is carried out safely.
- Ensures stock is safe from pilferage by maintaining close vigilance, and challenging non-payment.
- Manages inventory of supplies to support all stock controls protocols.
- Contributes to the team performance of the Catering Department to ensure the provision and maintenance of a high quality, cost effective service with the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Operates a computerised Point of Sale system/cash register & adheres to all cash handling procedures.
- Contributes to the development of best practice within the department and ensures the department's philosophy of quality care and customer service is reflected in practice.
- Ensures compliance with all Food safety requirements.
- Ensures all policies and procedures are strictly adhered to. Takes reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others.
- Carries out ad-hoc tasks as required by their supervisor to ensure the hospital remains contractually compliant.
- Provides a great level of customer service to all patients, staff and various.stakeholders
- Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as; expresso, expresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations.
- Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
- Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies.
- Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new/expanded services and products.
- Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
- Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
- Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up.
- Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.
- Uses Point of Sale system/cash register to accurately record and process payments.
- Performs Cash-In Procedure
- accounting for all forms of money, bread, etc., during their shift.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Ensures rubbish is regularly removed from areas and in the correct waste streams.
- Maintains vigilance for pests & reports any non-conformance to the Manager.
- Ensures all food is stored safely and at the correct legal temperatures.
- Ensures all equipment is washed correctly and where permitted with the use of a dishwasher.
- Promptly and accurately completes due diligence and other food safety documentation.
- Reports any safety deficiencies, incidents, near misses, ill health and environmental incidents to their manager.
- Ensures company safety arrangements and procedures are followed at all times. Brings any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided to the attention of the Manager.
- Complies with standards as set up in the company procedures and through training delivered.
- Undertakes additional duties as required by their supervisor in line with capabilities.
- Communicates effectively with all the teams to ensure there is a seamless way of working across the contract.
- Brings to life the Mitie values daily and demonstrates the exceptional everyday.

- Trained and experienced Barista.
