A UK wide SME, working on Rail, Highway & Foot Bridges across Wales and England are looking for a Principal Bridge Engineer to join their team in Bristol. Working with clients such as the Wales and Borders authority and Network rail on both temporary andpermanent bridge structures, you will take a leading role in managing the design and delivering the schemes.

This consultancy's Bristol office is seeing exponential growth in their pipeline of work and over the next twelve months have a plan to grow substantially, as a principal engineer you will take a leading role in the strategy and recruitment process, allowingyou to have the best team possible working under you.

Principal Bridge Engineer's daily responsibilities:

- Working within a team of Engineers and Technicians, including mentoring junior members
- Designing civil & structural schemes and checking designs prepared by others, including producing detailed calculations by hand and through computer models.
- Carrying out inspections, site surveys and assessments of structures and preparing reports
- Taking ownership of own projects across civils, bridges, rail and complex temporary works
- Preparing and managing project programmes, workload and resources
- Liaising with clients to verify project scope and ensure deliverables

Principal Bridge Engineer's requirements
- Relevant Civil or Structural Engineering degree
- Working towards Chartership or Chartered (ICE or IStructE)
- Strong technical knowledge within assessment and design including inspections, calculations and analysis of existing structures and new-build design development
- Experience of bridge design and assessments
- Experience within the UK industry; preferably within the rail industry, using Rail Eurocode and Highway standards
- Demonstrable experience of producing a high quality of written output, both in their own work and the checking of work by others. For example; reports, specifications AiP documents etc.
- Client focused approach with effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
- Eligible to live and work in the UK and high standard of written English
