We are looking for an energetic and vibrant lunchtime assistant to support our growing nursery at Crazy 4 Kids Marie Weller in Towcester.

- **What Do We Need From You -**_
- **A passion for children and making a difference** - No formal qualification or experience is required for this role, however a desire to work within the Early Years environment, and a willingness to engage in creative, messy and imaginary play is a must
- **12 hours paediatric first aid** - All staff hold a current certificate, however if this has expired, this training is offered as part of the initial core package.
- **Relevant safeguarding/child protection training** - This is also offered as part of the core training package, if required, but a willingness to update training regularly is a must.

**Job Description and Details**
- **Hours of Work**_

10 hours, Monday - Friday, 38 weeks per year.
- **Purpose of the Post**_

Supervise and support nursery children during the lunchtime period in an environment that is clean and meets appropriate Food Safety / Hygiene standards at all times. Undertake cleaning of the nursery/ dining room as required.
- **Roles and Responsibilities**_
- Prepare and set up for the lunchtime period ensuring a clean, safe environment for children to eat
- Help nursery children with a variety of tasks, including cutting up their food
- Be aware and support with meeting the requirements of the Safer Food Better Business for Caterers guidance as stated by Environmental Health, facilitating Environmental Health Inspections
- Be aware of children/ staff with allergies or specific dietary concerns, making relevant adjustments to food items
- Communicate with Nursery Manager / Owner on how to make improvements to the lunchtime period
- Clean the kitchen and Nursery areas, to maintain high hygiene standards
- Support with play activities and supervision during the lunchtime period
- Undertake relevant training for the role as identified in performance management meetings
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- To ensure a safe working environment in the nursery and eating areas at all times
- Carry out any other duties within the range and scope of the post that may be required in order to meet service demands
