As a Fashion Fabric Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualising, designing, and developing fabric patterns and prints that align with our brand's aesthetic and market trends. You will work closely with the design team to create innovative têxtile designs that enhance the appeal of our fashion products. Attention to detail, creativity, and a strong understanding of têxtiles and printing techniques are essential for success in this role.

**Responsibilities**:
Research and Trend Analysis:

- Stay updated on current fashion trends, colour forecasts, and têxtile innovations.
- Conduct research on emerging patterns, prints, têxtile techniques and consumer preferences.

Conceptualisation and Design:

- Collaborate with the design team to develop fabric concepts that complement seasonal collections.
- Create mood boards, sketches, and digital renderings to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Develop original têxtile designs, including prints, patterns, and textures, using software tools and traditional techniques.

Fabric Development:

- Select appropriate fabrics and materials for specific designs, considering factors such as texture, weight, and drape.
- Work closely with fabric suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the successful execution of designs.
- Conduct quality assessments of fabric samples to ensure they meet design specifications and standards.

Colour Coordination:

- Determine colour palettes that enhance the overall aesthetic and appeal of fabric designs.
- Collaborate with the colour team to ensure consistency and accuracy in colour selection across collections.

Prototype and Sampling:

- Create prototypes and samples of fabric designs for review and approval.
- Collaborate with the production team to oversee the sampling process and address any issues or modifications as needed.

Documentation and Communication:

- Maintain detailed records of design specifications, including colour codes, patterns, and printing techniques.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and marketing, to ensure alignment on design objectives and timelines.

Quality Control:

- Conduct regular quality checks on fabric samples and production runs to ensure adherence to design standards and specifications.
- Oversee the production process to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Identify and address any issues related to colour, pattern alignment, or print quality.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
- Proven experience as a fabric designer in the fashion industry.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD programs.
- Strong understanding of têxtile construction, printing techniques, and fabric properties.
- Excellent eye for colour, pattern, and detail.
- Creative thinking and ability to translate conceptual ideas into tangible designs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly fabric practices is a plus.
