**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**

1. Recruit and onboard volunteers through various channels, including outreach events, social media, and community partnerships.

2. Conduct orientation sessions to familiarise volunteers with Birchwood Charity's mission, values, and specific volunteer roles.

3. Develop and maintain relationships with existing volunteers, ensuring a positive and engaging experience throughout their involvement.

4. Collaborate with Heads of Service to identify volunteer needs and match volunteers with appropriate opportunities.

5. Coordinate volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for events, programs, and ongoing initiatives.

6. Provide ongoing support, supervision, and feedback to volunteers, fostering a sense of community and commitment.

7. Implement training programs to enhance volunteers' skills and knowledge related to their roles.

8. Manage volunteer databases, tracking hours, skills, and achievements for recognition and reporting purposes.

9. Organise appreciation events and recognition programs to acknowledge the valuable contributions of volunteers.

10. Collaborate with the communications team to promote volunteer opportunities and highlight success stories.

**Qualifications**:

- Qualification up to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Previous experience in volunteer coordination or related field preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organised with excellent time management skills.
- Passionate about community service and making a positive impact.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Experience of providing good customer service
- Experience of working to plans and targets
- The ability to exercise good judgement
- Willing to respond at short notice in the event of a major incident
- A clear commitment to equality and diversity principles and practices in service provision and employment
- Able to work early evenings and occasional weekends if required
- Driving licence

**Salary**: £24,000.00 per year
