**The Vacancy**

**Do you have the skills to be a mentor supporting young people in their own tenancies helping them build better future? If so, then we have a great opportunity for you to join our team in at QYHS as a Transition Mentor**

**Your new opportunity**

Staff at **Quarries Youth Housing Support **work as part of a team to support 42 young people in their tenancies. We offer support to young people aged 16-25 in the north and west Glasgow area.

We share responsibility for supporting young people to manage their finances, appointments, and their homes. Support is delivered to young people on an individual 1:1 basis. Groupwork support and activities are also offered by the team.

As a **Transition Mentor** you will joining a well established team who play a key part in promoting positive role modelling, ensuring that each young person's voice is heard and their individual needs are met. You will contribute towards promoting healthy lifestyles and ensuring people have access to information and opportunities within the local community.

**No sleepovers, with shifts patterns 9-5 or 11-7, Staff will work 1 in 3 weekends per month.**

**This is a permanent, full time position working 39 hours per week. Sleepover shifts may be included on a rotational basis and paid at the hourly rate.**

**What you will need to bring to the role**
- Ability to build trust long last relationships to effectively support young people and their families while maintain boundaries.
- Excellent communication skills and
- Knowledge and experience of supporting young people who have experienced homelessness and/or trauma in their young life.
- Reliability and commitment to delivering a vital service within a community setting.
- Resilience and ability to respond approach positively any conflict or signs of distressing behaviour.
