**Senior Quality Engineer - Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire - £40,000 to £45,000 - plus pension, benefits and bonus**

Melbreck Technical are working with a leading designer and manufacturer of specialist equipment and machinery based in Milton Keynes.

They pride themselves on their innovative history stemming from the 80’s and have created a culture based on understanding, co-operation, partnership and diversity.

As they continue to invest in new products, they have identified a need to strengthen their Quality team and as such are looking to hire a Senior Quality Manager to join the business ASAP.

**Senior Quality Engineer - Role Overview**:
Reporting to the Quality Manager you will be helping to manage and develop suppliers to provide effective containment and preventative actions on non-conforming parts/product in line with engineering specifications and standards.

You will be leading and providing support to all operational processes in the development and maintenance of Quality Systems and Procedures, and leading the development of a no-fault forward culture through the facilitation of problem solving.

**Senior Quality Engineer - Responsibilities**:
Responsible for Supplier Quality Assurance, of all allocated supplier commodities, and manage external supplier quality for the assigned commodity group.

Lead and perform new supplier quality audits and supplier development / continuous improvement activities.

Manage and develop Supplier Quality Assurance procedures to ensure all externally supplied products, material and parts meets required standards of quality.

Lead and manage the evaluation of Root Causes through proven problem-solving methods, 5 Why and 8D to resolve and provide sustainable solutions to daily quality problems.

Lead the integration of New Products through the deployment of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) tools and methodology, integrating PPAP (Product Part Approval Process) for internal processed parts and externally supplied parts.

**Senior Quality Engineer - Job Holder Requirements**:
Proven experience of competently managing and guiding Quality Engineers and Quality technicians.

Experience in manufacturing practices; Electrical systems, Hydraulic systems, Welding, CNC Machining, Fitting, Assembly and Finishing Processes.

Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or applicable experience

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Computer literate - with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint also Access and Project but not essential.

Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015).

Working knowledge of PPAP/APQP tools and methods.

Experience of D.F.M.E.A. and P.F.M.E.A. (desirable but not essential)

Working knowledge of LEAN principles.

Clean driving licence. Prepared to travel UK/Europe to assess / support the Supply base.

Qualified Auditor (internal or / & lead), experience.

Proven Problem-Solving experience, 5why and 8D methods.

**Senior Quality Engineer - Hours and Benefits**:
Working hours for the role are 08:00 - 16:30, Monday - Friday (40 hours basic)
