Optegra has an exciting new opportunity for an patient liaison to join our amazing eye hospital in Manchester. This is a part time role, 2 days (20 hours) per week. Flexibility can be provided with the 2 days required to work.

**Duties and responsibilities**

To act as the Patient Liaison for a nominated group of patients who come to the hospital for consultation and treatment. This involves greeting patients, explaining what will be happening to them on their first visit, following consultation talking patients through their options, agreeing the next stages with the patient, booking surgery dates and taking payment for procedures where necessary. Specific responsibilities include:

- Offering excellent custmer service to assist in increasing patient satisfaction levels
- Learning and participating in the Service Excellence apprach to customer and patient service and using these principles to provide exemplary standards of patient care
- Consistently follow the procedure for meeting and greeting all patients to ensure they receive a good welcome and are fully informed of what their visit will entail
- Manage and deal with the relatinships between patients and Consultants / Surgeons / Optometrists to ensure the patient has all the required information to reach an informed decision
- Ensuring that all patient invice documentation exists and is correct before enacting payment at least one week prior to surgery
- Assisting patients with PMI queries and ensuring all patients wh are insured have authorisation codes submitted into their patient record
- Manage all administratin tasks and reports required for the role including letters dictated by the Consultants
- Knowledge of finance options and processing of these.
- Making fllow up calls within defined timeline for TAIs.
- Communicating effectively and empathetically with all patients, colleagues and external contacts.
- Ensuring all patient recrds are available for clinic and surgery dates.

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in healthcare (would be an advantage)
- Knowledge of medical terminology (Would Be an advantage)
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good personal presentation
