We are looking to reinforce and expand our Military Equipment Stores Capabilty.

Dstl is the science, engineering and technology arm of the Ministry of Defence. It exists to maximise the impact of science and technology for the defence and security of the UK. The Stores Management Capability is key to supporting a variety of Dstl Business areas.

The team provides a key assurance role supporting Dstl and its customers focussing on the through-life management of Military Equipment.

You will play a pivotal part in the team supporting Dstl and key stakeholder with day to day management of the stores including; movements and associated documentation, data input, packaging, storage, control and logístical support.

Packing and unpacking stores for movement and creating paperwork within the stores management system. Carrying out regular audits of the stores holdings. Catalogue the military equipment using photography and digital media on to the stores management system. There will also be a requirement to assist in key stakeholder visits and displays of equipment.

**Job description**:**
in this role you will**:
The role will involve interacting with people from across the group, wider Dstl and MoD. Management of circa 7000 items of military equipment ranging from small scale electronics to shipping containers and vehicles.

In this role you will:

- Adhere to stores management and audit processes
- Ensure stores data is accurately captured, providing assurance that Dstl has reliable records and an auditable trail for safety and security processes and to inform the decision making process.
- Recognise and escalate health and safety concerns
- Under direction of the Stores Manager ensure effective and efficient day-to-day management of stock and work areas.
- Provide timely response to requests maintaining flexibility as priorities change
- Maintain required security and access controls
- Flexibility to work across the Dstl and MoD Estate.
- Provide support to Logistics Operations

**Responsibilities**:**
We are looking for someone who has**:
An understanding of stores management and stock control processes and strives for best practice.

The ability to produce and maintain accurate documentation with a keen eye for detail.

Experience in using stores database software.

A desire to support others to be effective and efficient on shared work.

The ability to anticipate straightforward technical, functional and administrative problems

**Important Information**

This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.

**Work location**

Dstl is strongly encouraging blended and flexible working either at one of our sites or from home or both. We want to empower you to undertake your duties at the most appropriate location for the task, however you will be allocated a Dstl site as a base. You may be required to travel to other Dstl and MoD sites as required.

**Qualifications**:
Numeracy and Literacy equivalent to GCSE’s Grade A-D.
