Location: Northfleet and surrounding areas

**Salary**: GBP14.50 - GBP16 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Job type: Permanent, full-time
Responsibilities of the Painter & Decorator:

- Preparing surfaces: prepare surfaces to be painted by cleaning, sanding, and priming them as necessary.
- Selecting paint and coatings: ensure you select the appropriate paint and coatings for each job, based on the surface being painted and the desired finish. You will collect the material from our designated merchant.
- Mixing paint: ensure you mix the paint to the proper consistency and colour.
- Finishing details: ensure that the paint job is neat and clean, with sharp lines and even coats.
- Cleaning up: After the job is complete, you must ensure you clean up the work area and appropriately dispose of any leftover paint and supplies.
- Maintaining equipment: you will be responsible for maintaining any equipment allocated to you such as company van, ladder to reach high area, brushes, rollers, and spray guns, to ensure that they are in good working condition.
- Following safety procedures: you must ensure you follow safety procedures to protect yourselves, residents, and others, including wearing protective gear and using proper ventilation.
- Interacting with clients/residents: in all cases, you will interact with clients/residents to discuss the project and address or escalate any concerns they may have. You must be courteous and professional at all times.
Requirements of the Painter & Decorator:
As a successful painter working with us, you must have good colour vision, attention to detail, and be physically fit enough to perform the duties of the job. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, have good communication skills,be professional and be able to meet deadlines. Additionally, you should have basic education such as GCSE or equivalent, and some have received training through an apprenticeship or vocational school or qualify by years of experience of working in the trade.
